Willow Lodge

Matusadona Lodges and Camping
Matusadona National Park is an intensive Protection Zone for black rhino and hunting is not allowed in this area. It borders Lake Kariba, attracting animals with its water and grassy banks where lion, buffalo, elephant, waterbuck, zebra, impala and hippos can be seen. There are a number of campsites, Tashinga is on the Lake shore and there is an ablution block with water, showers, toilets etc. There are braai sites provided and some of the camps do have shelter to sleep under. At Sanyati Camp there are two sites, one can accommodate five people and the other six people. Braai facilities, and ablution block with running water are available. There are a couple of bush camps namely Jenje and Kandjedza, these camps are very rough so visitors must be well prepared and each camp can take a maximum of ten people. The camps can can only be accessed with a four wheel drive vehicle In addition to those there are some exclusive camps, some of which only cater for one party at a time with a maximum of five people. One of them at Maronga is situated on the escarpment ideal of hikers. For people who don’t like camping there is Ume and Mabalabala Lodges which are found close to the Tashinga airstrip. Matusadona has plenty of birdlife as well as wildlife, and activities include bird watching in the stunning Sanyati Gorge, game drives, hiking and escarpment climbing as well as fishing in rivers that enter the lake Kariba.
Wild Heritage Lodges
They are all self-catering units which are well appointed with clean simple designs. Each of them comprises; a modern, tastefully decorated kitchen, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, patio, lounge and dining area. Outdoor facilities include a swimming pool, braai area and parking space. Each lodge has sufficient outdoor space for relaxing. All the rooms have overhead fans; bedrooms are equipped with mosquito nets and bedding. Guests are encouraged to bring own towels. The entertainment rooms have a television set. There will be a housekeeper/cook to assist guests with kitchen tasks. Guests can bring their own boats which will be moored at a secure location; guests are advised to bring fishing rods and other accessories with them.
Musango Safari Camp
Musango Safari Camp is found on its own island on Lake Kariba, just off the shores of Matusadona National Park. You can reach Musango either by small aircraft from Kariba or Victoria Falls, or by speedboat from Kariba, it takes approximately 1.5 hours. Musango has 6 large, very comfortable twin luxurious safari tents, each with an en-suite bathroom built of natural stone. In addition to this, there are two large honeymoon suites, each of these have their own plunge pool. All of these rooms face east over Lake Kariba, allowing you to enjoy the sunrise every morning from the privacy of your room. Musango Safari Camp is run by the owners, Steve and Wendy who will look after your every need. There is plenty of wildlife and birdlife to see whilst exploring around Musango. They offer walking safaris, tiger fishing, big 5 game drives, tracking the black rhino in the adjacent rhino sanctuary as well as canoe safaris. They are also involved in the Wild Dog Research Project so you are almost guaranteed seeing these beautiful animals. For all these activities very experienced, well trained and professional guides are provided.
Matetsi Lodge
Matetsi River Lodge is located on the banks of the Zambezi River in Victoria Falls. This luxury lodge sits on a 55000 Hectare Game reserve that is less than an hour away from the Victoria Falls International Airport. Matetsi is open all year round with interesting views for each exciting season. Matetsi Accommodation comprises the Matetsi River House (Villa) and several elegant lodge suites. Gonarezhou forms part of the Great Limpopo Transfrontier Park, linking the park with the Kruger National Park in South Africa and the Limpopo National Park in Mozambique, enabling the animals to move freely between the three reserves. The spectacular sandstone Chilojo Cliffs are the most prominent landmark in the park, with their distinctive red and orange strata. The Chilojo Cliffs were on the old Zim$10 banknote.
